Using assessments consistently and purposefully in the classroom allows me to check in on how well my students are grasping the concepts they are learning. Assessments such as exit tickets, group work, and warm-up activities help me as an instructor to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of my students BEFORE I give summative assessments. I can then take the results of their assessments to create more effective, efficient, and purposeful lessons for my students.
